Lakota Agriculture Project

Building A Teaching Farm for Native Youth in Rapid City, SD

The Lakota Agricultural Project is a two-year community effort to create a youth-led teaching farm in Rapid City. This farm will combine traditional Lakota ecological knowledge with modern science and technology to grow food, teach life skills, and strengthen cultural connections for Native youth.

This project is about healing, culture, and future opportunity. By growing food together and learning from both tradition and science, Native youth will gain the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape their futures while strengthening their connection to Lakota heritage.
